Nikole Rhodes, a Senior HR Professional, published a rather telling post on LinkedIn about the state of the current job search experience. Yet, people had conflicting reactions to this recruitment story.
1. Inconsistency Spotters: Either they took direct or indirect issue with the ‘almost 3 months’ assertion (some said ‘four months’)
2. Affirmers and Commiserators: The job market sucks, there are better fish out there.
3. The Angered: How dare companies treat people like replacement parts. Leave a bad review and warn future candidates.
4. Philosophers: Count your blessings, the company showed its true colors before you began to depend on the paycheck.
One curious observation, however: No one said, “you’re making this up, no company acts this way.”
What a way to do business! Wouldn’t be surprised if the company in question had a high turnover rate and consistent LOA issues.
(Added note: Sadly, many churches treat members in exactly the same way, and experience similar results.)
